December 25, 2009, Newsletter Issue #12: Consider Color Carefully

Tip of the Week

Because we are affected emotionally, physically and psychologically by color, it's a good idea to consider where you live before selecting colors for your walls.

Warm colors--red, yellow, orange--will make you feel warmer, so you'll want to be very careful in using them in the desert. But they are great for climates where the winters are very cold and the summers are mild.

Cool colors--blue, brown and green--are cooling and calming and work very well for interiors in the desert. They are always appropriate for bedrooms and meditation areas. White can be warm or cool depending on it's undertones, as can gray.

So, where you live plays a great part in the colors that will work in your surroundings.
